Safety Policy

I Have a Helmet for You

It's not optional. It is, however, very cute.

The one rule.

Wear the helmet. That's it. That's the whole policy. Everything else below is just detail.

Why, you ask?

Your brain is the best thing
you're bringing on this ride.

I know what you're thinking: "Will I look cool?" Probably not. But you'll look alive, which is genuinely cooler. Helmets exist because physics is real and physics does not care about your aesthetic. The helmet is fine. You will survive being seen in it.

The ride

  • A helmet is provided and must be worn from start to finish
  • No experience on a tandem required. Most people get it in 30 seconds
  • You don't steer or brake, that is my job
  • Hold on through turns and I'll give you a heads up before each one
  • Speak up at any point if you need to slow down or stop
  • You can end the ride at any time, for any reason, no questions asked
  • Let me know beforehand if you have any mobility or comfort concerns

Your rights

  • Recording only happens with your explicit consent at booking
  • Say "off record" at any point and I stop immediately, no questions asked
  • Nothing goes live without letting you know first
  • You can withdraw your episode at any time before it is published
  • Your booking information is used only to coordinate the ride
  • Personal details are never shared with anyone
  • Contact me any time to request your data be deleted

A note on helmet hair.

It's temporary. The memories aren't. Hair nets are provided so you can ride in style and arrive looking like yourself. You can fix your hair. You cannot fix a head injury. Embrace it.

The legal bit

Riding with me is riding at your own wonderful risk.

Tandem Talks is a personal passion project, not a transportation company, not a registered business. By agreeing to ride, you acknowledge that cycling carries inherent risk: potholes, unexpected turns, the general unpredictability of city streets.

I'll do everything in my power to make every ride safe, smooth, and genuinely enjoyable. But any accidents, incidents, or unexpected bumps in the road are not the legal responsibility of the host. You ride knowing this, and I ride knowing I'll do right by you.

If anything ever goes wrong before, during, or after a ride, reach out directly. I take that seriously.

I've read it. Book me in.
